Before you start
Do not automatically double the liquid or exceed your cooker's maximum-fill line. Beans, grains, pasta, and other expanding foods should remain below the half-full line. Keep the programmed cook time the same only when piece size stays the same, and allow more time for the fuller pot to reach pressure.
The display countdown begins only after the cooker reaches pressure. A full family meal commonly needs 10 to 20 minutes to pressurize, plus the stated release time, so DishGal includes those stages in the total.
These recipes are developed around a 6-quart electric pressure cooker. An 8-quart model may need additional thin liquid according to its manual. Always follow the minimum-liquid, fill-limit, and release instructions for your exact model.
